We are instructed on a major project that has involved securing planning permission for 14 new apartments via conversion (under permitted development) of vacant former office floorspace within a highly accessible and sustainable urban location.

A separate full planning application for the upwards extension of the building to provide 12 additional apartments was approved in 2023.

This approach demonstrates how we can help to maximise the value of our client’s sites through the planning process and deliver significant wider benefits, including:

  • Delivering a total of 26 new apartments for the local community in a sustainable District Centre location;
  • All apartments will be built within the footprint of an under-utilised building on a previously developed site (with commercial uses retained at ground floor);
  • The new taller building will represent a positive addition to the street scene;
  • New residents will bring increased revenue and support to nearby shops and services within the District Centre.
