96 homes and 1,200 sqm mixed commercial floorspace

In 2021, we secured full planning permission for 96 new homes and major commercial/office/retail floorspace at a previously developed former Mill site.

The scheme included the restoration of dilapidated Mill and Oast House buildings for the benefit of the local community. 

The process required extensive public consultation and negotiation with Planning and Design Officers, as well as the preparation of comprehensive submissions to deal with complex matters relating to heritage, flood risk and perceived loss of employment floorspace.

Mialex also represented the applicant at the Neighbourhood Plan Public Examination, helping to secure a favourable policy allocation for the site.
